Application Requirements
The deadline for the 2011 scholarship has passed. Be sure to check back for updates on the 2012 program.

To be considered for the UCB RA Family Scholarship Program, all applicants (i.e. a patient with RA or immediate family member) need to submit the following:

  • A completed and signed application with an official academic transcript and a recent, non-returnable photograph of the applicant, labeled with his or her name, address, and telephone number
  • A one- to two-page essay about how the applicant is living beyond the boundaries of RA to demonstrate academic ambition and personal achievement, and how the scholarship would affect his or her life
  • A minimum of two (maximum of three) letters of recommendation. One letter should come from a teacher or school official and one from a person in his or her community (eg, employer, coworker, clergy member, or coach)
  • A confirmation of RA diagnosis from the treating physician on letterhead stationary
